In partnership with Mountain Sports Lab and Inclusive Ski Touring, join us for a weekly group skin for all levels, led by Inclusive Ski Touring volunteers, Sunday mornings, beginning mid-December, through late March. Check-in starts at 8am on the first floor of the Fairbank Lodge, with an on-snow time of 9am and ending at 11am. Rentals for this program ate available by Mountain Sports Lab, and must be reserved in advance. An Uphill Ticket or Season Pass is required to participate. Lift Up Our Community Chairlift Auction
Celebrate the legacy of Bretton Woods and our community with an opportunity to blend history and philanthropy. As part of our Lift Up Our Community initiative, inaugurated during our 50th Anniversary during the 2023-2024 ski season, we continue the celebration with a one-of-a-kind, retired Fabyan's Express Triple Chair being auctioned off starting Homecoming Weekend, November 29–December 1, 2024. Bidding is open through noon on March 29, 2025 when the winner will be announced during our Beach Party festivities. Take part and bid on a singular piece of Bretton Woods history with proceeds from the auction to benefit the Say Goodnight to Hunger campaign and the fight against food insecurity. Park Affair is dropping into McIntyre Parks with a women’s specific rail jam on Sunday, January 19th – A Grand In Your Hand! A Grand In Your Hand is open to ALL with a mix of categories that are defined as follows: GROM – The GROM category is open to all Groms under 15 – we will have prizes for competitors in this category. JUST FOR FUN – The Just for Fun category is open to all abilities and genders for those over 15 years of age. All are welcome for this category focused on fun and a welcoming environment, with high level prizes for competitors in this category. OPEN – The Open Category is the Women’s Specific Category, competing for the Cash Prize. Geschmossel Classic Ski Race
Originally staged during the winter of 1972-73, the Geschmossel is one of New England’s oldest citizens’ races. The race originated as a 6-kilometer fun race, and was groomed with a homemade track sled that was pulled by a rope from a grooming machine. Today this 15 km classical style Nordic ski race is part of the ZAK Cup Series and takes place on the Ammonoosuc trail network at the Bretton Woods Nordic Center and has grown to attract high-level skiers including members of the United States Ski Team. The 100-kilometer trail network at Bretton Woods is expertly groomed for classical and skate skiing making Bretton Woods an ideal location for Nordic Racing. This event is for spectators and participants as participants try to ski or snowboard across a man-made pond without falling in. Some make it across the pond but many make a splash and take the icy plunge. The judges hand out prizes for Best Costume, Best Splash and Best Skim. Pond Skim Registration is from 8:30am to 11:30am outside the Valley Lodge. Event starts at 1pm. The entry fee is FREE but the purchase of at least a Valley Area Lift Ticket (and must be purchased in advance at patspeak.com) or Pats Peak Season Pass and a costume are required to enter the contest.
