Low Voltage Seminar
Students learn to maintain and repair chairlifts, in a training setting with a focus on lift electrical and electronic components. This seminar not only enables seasoned lift mechanics to test and refresh their skills, but it provides an opportunity for those who are interested in becoming a lift mechanic to learn more. There are beginner, intermediate, and advanced sessions that provide hands-on experiences along with some limited classroom time.
In 2024, Ski NH introduced a 1-day snowmakers program. Instructors covered The Basics (AC to DC, meter use, circuitry, and basic schematics), PLC components, Control voltages, Sensor types and troubleshooting, Relays/Coils, "PID loops" (drives vs. control valves); Running enable/disable; SCADA overview and building a documentation library. Additionally, participants learned about transmitters, how to read lights, and how to drive signals to PLC.
