CONWAY, NH (March 16, 2018)—New Hampshire has experienced three major snowfall events since the beginning of March, dropping anywhere from just over two feet to over five feet of new snow in two weeks. With snow clouds lingering over certain ski areas for days at a time, conditions are at an all-time high for the 2017-18 season, causing skier visits in the state to be on the rise over last year’s turnout for both alpine and cross-country areas.

What’s more, forecasts seem to be indicating snow in some parts of the state over the weekend, and more snow coming through next week as well. March has been the snowiest month of the 2017/18 season, with some resorts reporting that these storms have made up over a third of their snowfall totals this year.

“These storms have been welcomed with open arms by New Hampshire’s ski industry, considering the wide range of difficult weather that we’ve experienced over the course of the season. Should the forecasts for snow next week ring true, we may even see some ski areas extending their seasons,” says Jessyca Keeler, Executive Director of Ski New Hampshire.

Though conditions are positively wintry, spring is still in full swing in terms of traditional events like pond skimming, 80s days, mini pipe competitions, and more. Plus, many resort’s 2018/19 season passes are now on sale as well, which allow new purchasers to ski free for the rest of the season, and offer additional perks to current passholders if they buy now for next season.
