Yurt Yoga

Gunstock Outdoor Center is excited to present Yurt Yoga! Come join our elite Gunstock Yoga Instructors every Sunday from 9am-10:15am and Wednesday from 9:30-10:45am for a yoga class designed to relieve your body of the impact of the work week. Optimized for both locals and travelers of various skill levels, our Yurt Yoga is a transformative experience. This class will implement traditional Hatha yoga with focus on lengthening and strengthening the muscles, while incorporating slow flow and holding some postures for a moderate length of time. Class begins with grounding (meditation) and ends with savasana (complete relaxation) with the overall goal being to elevate the awareness between the physical and energetic body connection. Yurt Yoga will meet in, you guessed it, the Yurt! That small, funny-looking building right next to the Outdoor Center on the right side of the road coming into the mountain. Class fee is $15. We provide all the necessities for this yoga class, just bring yourself, your mat if you have one (if not, we do!), and water! Please park in the parking lane behind the Outdoor Center. More Info

Gunstock Ski Club Race: Francis Piche Invitational

03/13/19 12:00 to 03/17/19 01:00
The Francis Piche Invitational race commemorates the life of local figure Francis Piche, who founded the Piche's Ski Shop and promoted the sport of skiing in the Lakes Region. Not only was he an accomplished skier and racer, but he also coached local youth and worked at the Belknap Recreation Area (now Gunstock Mountain Resort) in the late 1930's. After returning home from WWII in 1945 he ran his shop on nights and weekends and was active in the local skiing groups. The race, originally called the Thompson Trophy, was named in honor of Francis Piche in 1995. Congratulations to all athletes qualifying for the 2019 Francis Piche Invitational at Gunstock Mountain Resort on March 15th - March 17th, with additional training days on March 13th and 14th.
