Summer Solstice Guided Hike

Celebrate the longest day of the year and the official start of summer with an adventurous 1-2 hour round-trip hike through the woods, while watching the sunset over the Belknap and Ossipee Ranges!

Headlights provided for when the darkness inevitably falls upon us!

Meet at the Welcome Center at 7:00pm.  Route to change based on weather. Rain? As long as no thunderstorms are in the area, we'll get in touch with our inner youth, and puddle splash our way through it!

Salomon Spring Trail Running/Walking Series

A weekly trail race series for all abilities and ages. Every Thursday for eight weeks racers can run or walk the long, short or mini courses between 3:30 and 7:00 p.m. Placement awards in each category. Competitors who complete 6 out of 8 weeks are eligible for the prize raffle at the end of series awards party.

Take in the amazing views this summer while doing something for yourself! Cost is $15 per class or you can buy a 10-class punch card for $120! Take the Sunapee Express to the summit (please allow 15 minutes to get to the top by chair). Alternatively, you can hike up the Summit Trail for a warmup! The Summit Trail takes about 90 minutes to hike, give or take, depending on your pace.

Enjoy a peaceful chairlift ride to the summit of Gunstock with your friends in the fresh morning air. Take in the majestic views of Lake Winnipesaukee and surrounding mountains as far as the eye can see, while breathing, moving, and meditating. This is all about elevating your mood, improving your flexibility in a beautiful, natural setting, and starting your day feeling centered.

These weekly sessions are for everyone but geared toward beginners: they include only the most basic poses and moves, and will leave you feeling loose, relaxed, and ready to approach your day with a sense of great intention!

Please arrive for class no later than 8:45am, as the Panorama chairlift loads participants at 9am. Class wraps up at 10am and includes a lift ride down the mountain as well. A LIMITED number of yoga mats are available for guests to use, however, we strongly recommend bringing your own mat to this popular class.

Drop-in rate for each class is $20. 

Mountaintop Yoga is included in both the Summer Prime Pass and the Gunstock 360 Pass, and 50% off for Flex Passholders. Yet another great perk of being a summer pass holder!

A Sprint, Olympic and Half Iron length Triathlon with a bike, swim & run through Franconia Notch State Park and the White Mountain National Forest. Echo Lake will be closed from 7am-10am and the Recreation Path from Profile Lake north to the Skookumchuck Trailheadwill be closed to the public from 8am-11am Saturday. The Rec Path will remain open from Profile Lake south to the Flume Gorge.

Gunstock Ascension is a hiking race-- against yourself! Walk/run/hike up the mountain and take a ride down on the Panorama lift as many times as you can in the allotted time span. How many laps can you make?

Choose from 3 hour and 6 hour races, both begin at 9am.

Skiers are Made in the Summer Pre-Season Training

SAMITS, standing for "Skiers Are Made In The Summer" is a once a week summer program bringing high school aged athletes together for physical workouts and fun activities at Great Glen. Activities include mountain biking, trail running and paddling whitewater kayaks in addition to those that develop endurance, speed, power, strength and technique for cross country skiing. (See schedule below.) While the program is geared towards helping cross country skiers get in shape, any high school athlete interested in getting more fit while having fun outdoors with peers is welcome!

June 28: Warm-up, relays for leg power, ski walking intervals with poles, game, cool water dip
July 5: Circuits for strength, mtn. biking including leg speeds, cool water dip
July 12: Warm-up, uphill run time trial, stretching, paddling games in whitewater kayaks on pond
July 19: Rollerski @ Randolph Hill Road, swimming @ Ravine House Pool, Randolph
July 26: Circuits, team challenge (running), stretching, swimming

Celebrate the holiday weekend on June 30-July 1 at the fabulous Gunstock Craft Fair on Saturday and Sunday 10am to 4pm! There will be over 80 exhibitors! Special features will include an Alpaca Exhibit, soy candle demonstration, leather crafting demonstration, face painting for children & adults, and jewelry making! Musical entertainment will include: Rockin Daddios on Saturday, Paul Warnick on Sunday, and Tim Janis Music all weekend!
